Who paints the clocks? Lauri designs and hand
paints every aspect of the clock, from numbers, to the art created in the
middle. She takes inspiration from numerous resources such as current trends,
clients and her own intuition.
When did you start and why? Lauri Seghetti's Never Enough Time evolved out of her interior design
company Designs Ispirato. She found that her customers didn't want just another
piece of framed art. She determined that her clients liked the idea of art that
has a function, so she decided to combine art with time. Placing art on large
dimensional clocks allowed her the ability to let both art and function unite,
while complimenting any decor.
How much do they weigh? The larger clocks weigh
as follows: 24-inch 8.5 pounds, 30-inch 10.6 pounds, 36-inch 15 pounds,
44-inch
20 pounds.
How do you hang them? Hanging is very simple.
Each clock has a ring that runs three inches in from the perimeter of the clock.
The ring is grooved so the head of a screw or nail will keep it from sliding
off. A sheet rock molly screw works very well.
What drives the hands? A battery powered High-Torque quartz movement is used to power the large hands around the face of
the clock.
-
How long does a battery last? One AA battery
powers the movement and will last one to two years no matter what size of clock.
-
What is the clock made of? The clock is made
of Medium Density Fiberboard.
Medium
density fiberboard is a high quality engineered timber product offering superior
qualities of consistency of finish and density, freedom from knots and natural
irregularities, as well as having the characteristics of strength, durability
and uniformity. These characteristics make MDF particularly suited for use in
structural applications.
-
What kind of paint is used? Our
original clocks are painted using the finest artist acrylic paints and then sprayed with
a catalyzed seal coat providing excellent clarity and
durability.
-
How are the reproductions made?
Reproductions are a Giclee print. A Giclee is the highest quality
and most accepted fine art presentation of images on the market today. A
Giclee print is the closest reproduction to the original captured image, thus
resulting in the highest quality replication possible. This process uses
archival inks so that the image will never fade. These images are not only
fine pieces of art, but are heirloom quality and will provide enjoyment for
generations.
-
How do you maintain them? There is very
little maintenance involved with the clock. Cleaning is accomplished with a
soft dry cloth. High moisture and direct sunlight can be detrimental to
the life of the clock.
